Robotics Education at Orivance

At Orivance, our robotics training is tailored to suit different education levels—from elementary school to university and beyond. Each program is customized to match the learning pace and interests of students, following Canadian curriculum standards while adding hands-on, project-based experiences.

1. Elementary & Middle School (Grades 4–8)

Focus: Creativity, curiosity, and basic logic

  • Introduction to Robotics & Fun Challenges
  • Core Concepts of Robots and Simple Machines
  • Robotics Competitions (age-appropriate tasks)
  • Basics of Electricity & Safety
  • Visual Programming with Flowcharts
  • Connecting and Controlling Simple Robot Parts
  • Understanding Sensors and Motors
  • Building Basic Robot Structures
  • Soldering (optional, with supervision)

Goal: Build early interest in STEM with fun and safe hands-on activities.


2. High School (Grades 9–12)

Focus: Problem-solving, systems thinking, and hardware/software interaction

  • Robotics Hardware: Motors, Sensors, Controllers
  • Algorithms & Flowchart Design
  • Programming Simple Robots
  • Circuit Design & Logic Circuits
  • Working with Microcontrollers (Arduino, basic STM32)
  • Intro to Programming Environments (CodeVision, BASCOM)
  • Soldering & PCB Assembly
  • Intro to Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) & ADC
  • Mini-project: Build a Line-Following Robot

Goal: Develop real-world engineering and coding skills aligned with high school STEM goals.


3. University & College Students

Focus: Advanced robotics, automation, and embedded systems

  • Advanced Microcontroller Programming (AVR, ARM, STM32)
  • Hardware Architecture of Microcontrollers
  • Input/Output Port Configuration
  • Interrupt Handling & Timers
  • LCD/Keypad Integration
  • Serial Communication Protocols (UART, SPI, I2C)
  • PWM and Analog-to-Digital Conversion
  • Designing Logic-Based Robotics Systems
  • Building Advanced Mechanical and Hybrid Robots
  • Capstone Projects & Competitions (Maze Solver, AI-driven Bots)

Goal: Prepare students for careers or research in robotics, embedded systems, and automation.


4. Workshops for Teachers & Professionals

Focus: Train-the-trainer & upskilling

  • How to Run a Robotics Club
  • Designing Curriculum-Aligned Robotics Lessons
  • Project-Based Learning with Robots
  • Integrating Robotics into Classrooms or Maker Spaces
  • Teaching with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and VEX
  • Industry-focused Short Courses (Automation, IoT, AI in Robotics)
